History

Fletcher was incorporated nearly 30 years ago in 1989 and is just 13 miles south of Asheville. As of the 2010 census, our population claimed 7,187 residents, but we’ve continued to grow since that time. In fact, our population has exploded since we were first incorporated; in 1990, we were estimated to have just 2,787 residents, meaning by 2010, we had seen more than a 250% increase in our population.

Things To Do

There is plenty to do in and around Fletcher. Just a few miles away in Mills River, you can go on the Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. tour and tasting, or just stay here in Fletcher for a delicious brew at Blue Ghost Brewing Company. You can also spend an afternoon at the WNC Agricultural Center or do some shopping at The Garage on 25.

Not far away in Arden are the Mountain Play Lodge and the Launch Trampoline Park for a full day of family fun. Or just take a short drive up to Asheville to tour the beautiful Biltmore Estate.

Fletcher represents the best of that signature North Carolina hospitality.
